In today’s world of reality shows and websites such as Pintrest, extravagant wedding cakes are everywhere we turn. On reality television, beautiful, detailed, and huge cakes are created in a mere 30 minute episode. Although, these shows give an insight into what can be created out of cake they don't accurately portray the amount of man-hours that go into creating these cakes. Therefore, many people underestimate the cost of these works of art. People's wedding cake pins typically don’t include the price of the cake or the over all extravagance of the Wedding it was enjoyed at. We find that the biggest mistakes Brides make is choosing a design they found online and having their heart set on it before finding out the cost to make it. Just like when shopping for a wedding dress, most shoppes won't put a bride in a dress they can't afford. A good tip is to have a couple different options so this way if one cake is out of your budget you won’t be heart broken on one set cake. At the end of the day Brides need to be conscious of what they like but also, be realistic about their budget and what they want to spend. Brides should be willing to make compromises to get a great cake within their budget.
