Wedding Wednesday: Venetian Table

The Venetian table was a staple in Italian weddings as it was a Sicilian tradition called the "Venetian Hour". This was a dessert course that is offered after dinner is finished and the cake is cut. This dessert course typically offers pastries, fruit, cakes and coffee. Venetian table is an abundant  and lavish in both food and decorations.  Traditionally, the table consisted of desserts such as tiramisu, napoleons, cannoli, cheesecakes, fruit logs, and cream cakes. Over time chocolate fountains as well as, ice cream and other various stations focused on individual treats are also popular.  A Venetian table is another type of dessert buffet that appears at weddings and other social events. The presentation of sweets is too intended to be breathtaking in variety.

These are a great addition to a wedding as they add a climax to a delicious dinner. They provide a variety of sweets for your guest so there is something for everyone. It is a great way to incorporate both the grooms and brides favorites along with traditional cultural desserts from their own backgrounds.

All together this dessert table is both stunning and delicious!
