Tip Tuesday: Last Minute Orders

We all have had those "shoot I forgot to order the cake" or last minute visits from your mother-in-law and you need a dessert asap. Unfortunately, here at The Cake Boutique our weekends book out nearly 2 weeks for weekend dates and for special decorations. It never hurts to ask to see if a bakery can squeeze you in, however, you have to be realistic in your expectations. Most 3D figures take multiple days to dry and create, therefore, they are not a last minute order. Also, large 3D shaped cakes are tough to squeeze in as they require a lot of prep work. Some bakeries can squeeze you in as they may not be as busy, however, many bakeries only have a certain amount of man power and especially during holidays or busy seasons. So if you are in a bind it never hurts to ask, just be open to what options you have on a shorter time frame.
