Cake Friday: Zebra Done Right!

Today's Cake Friday is a small simple cake, but I choose it because it is a cake I have seen numerous bakeries get wrong. Zebra is such a big trend right now and done right can be good for young and old. Take a look at this weeks Zebra cake step by step.....
First, our cake is smooth iced
with vanilla buttercream.
Black fondant is rolled out thin.
Using a roller, black curvy stripes are cut.
The strips are added with a touch of water.
More strips are added.
Strips are added from both sides.

On the ends curved strips are added.
Both sides are curved in.
Two hot pink legs are added to make a bow.
A pink bow is made and paper towels
are used to support the loops until they dry.
With a touch of water the bow is added.
A pink rope is rolled out to be put in a mold.
The rope is pushed into the mold.
The balls are placed on the edge of the cake to finish it off.

The Happy Birthday Banner is the final touch.
