Tip Tuesday: How to Prep a Cake Pan

Many recipes will require you to prep your cake pan prior to baking to prevent sticking. Some cakes such as angel food do not require greasing your pan. If your recipe does require you to prep your pan there are a few ways to do it. Here is how we prep our pans here at The Cake Boutique.

Step one: Using a pan short i.e. crisco grease your pan thoroughly so that you don't miss any spots. Pan spray can be used as a substitute depending on the recipe.

Step Two: Trace your cake pan on a piece of parchment paper with a pencil. Using your trace mark as a guide, cut out the parchment circle and place it in the bottom of your pan.

Step Three: Sprinkle a few ounces of flour into the pan and roll the pan around to cover the entire surface with flour. Remove excess flour.

Step Four: Pour in your batter- bake and enjoy!
