Finding The Perfect Wedding Cake for You

Should you get a traditional wedding cake or celebrate your wedding day with a unique wedding cake that fits your personality?

 

Planning a wedding in the 21st century there are many issues couples face with large budgets at stake, tricky family scenarios to manage, and pressure to host a "perfect day" with all that it is easy to get stressed out.

Our biggest tip when planning a wedding is to keep yourselves as the number one priority. There are a lot of traditions that couples feel the pressure to uphold but keeping in mind that it is your special day and people are there to celebrate you, should help you keep your wants and needs at the top of the list. Although, more traditional cakes are still popular we have worked with many brides and grooms that have done cakes that celebrate them uniquely as a couple.

Dr. Who Cake

Take for instance, what we call as our Dr. Who couple. This couples relationship revolved around watching there favorite show together, going to Dr. Who events,and eating Dr. Who themed restaurants. So when it was time to plan a wedding cake- why not create a tospy turvy unique Dr. Who cake that represents them as a couple.

 

Taste of Philadelphia

Another couple wanted a "Taste of Philadelphia" wedding with lots of Tasty Cakes as desserts, but feeling the pressure from there family they showed up for a consultation for a wedding cake that they didn't really want. So what was our recommendation?! A giant Krimpet look alike cake. This way the guests still got to enjoy a traditional piece of cake but it was still "A Taste of Philadelphia."

There is nothing wrong with having your personalities shine through in your wedding cake.

Super Hero Cake With Some Bling

Take my last couple as example, this couple had an inside joke that he was her "super hero." And the bride, a total girly girl who loved animal print and bling.

A traditional white buttercream cake would just not going to cut it for them. So we created a three tier cake including The Fortress of Solitude, zebra print, and topped with a super hero carrying a bride of course.

These unique cakes are show pieces and great conversation pieces- that let the guest see a side of the couples personalities.A Dr. Who themed cake isn't for everyone- but that's the point choose a cake that represents you.
