Specialty Cakes vs. Grocery Store Cakes

 

 

Quite often I will get questioned on prices of specialty cakes, or get a comparison comment to the local grocery store prices. I recently came across the following two photos that helps me answer these questions I have gotten. Specialty cakes, like what we make here at The Cake Boutique are made to order- which means the cake, and icing are made fresh for your particular order. In most grocery stores and superstore cakes are shipped in frozen and iced with premade icing from a bucket. There is a lot less time invested in a grocery store cake and often in the decorations as well.
