Cake Friday: Across the Universe…. of Cake

Across the Abbey Road, Along the Long And Winding Road, to the Strawberry Fields With a Little Help From My Friends we created this Fabulous Beatles themed birthday cake! If you can't tell The Cake Boutique is a big Beatles fan, so we were super excited when this DYOT(Do your own thing) order came in. Check out how we translated the Beatles theme in this two tier cake.

The bottom tier is covered
in a bright blue fondant.

The bottom is doweled to
add support to the tier cake.

The top tier is covered in white fondant. 

"Beatles" letters are cut from black fondant

They are attached to the top
 tier with a touch of water.

Bright neon colors of fondant are rolled out. 

Next, circles are cut to create
a layered polka dot look.  

The polka dots are placed on top of each other.

They are placed on the bottom tier of the cake.

A touch of water is added to the cake
for a place to put a touch of silver. 

The silver dragess are
placed on the spots of water.

Rainbow colored balls are placed
 around the base of the cake. 

A 30 topper is added to the top
of the cake to finish it off.
