Cake Friday: Can you Guess our Favorite Cake?!
We have done many cakes and often we will say that this or that cake is our favorite...but there is one cake across the board that really is our #1 favorite cake to make! Look at these step by step photos and see if you can guess what it is!
First, dowels are added to the bottom cake for support. |
The top cake is stacked and doweled. |
Yellow fondant is kneaded and worked. |
The cake is covered and smoothed in the yellow fondant. |
The yellow is trimmed off the bottom of the cake. |
A large blue strip of fondant is wrapped around the base of the cake. |
Thinner blue strips of blue fondant are cut. |
In a half moon shape the blue fondant is added to two sides of the cake. |
A blue square is cut. |
A thin rectangle is added to the square. |
Using a stitching tool the square is outlined. |
With a touch of water the square is applied to the front of the cake. |
A roll of yellow fondant is shaped. |
A tear dropped shaped yellow fondant piece is formed. |
The yellow tear drop is added to the yellow roll of fondant. |
A toothpick is added to each side for support. |
With a touch of water it is added to the cake. |
Using the baller tool each side is pressed in. |
A "G" logo is hand painted. |
The "G" is placed on the center of the blue square. Now can you guess what this weeks cake friday is?!?!?!? |
