Cake Friday: A Cake Fit for a Princess
This week we received a call from a mom whose daughter is currently battling cancer. She wanted to get some special cupcakes for a birthday celebration. Not only did we create special cupcakes for her, but we surprised her with a cake fit for a princess having a princess and pony party. Check out how we created this cake for her.
First, the cake is covered with pink fondant and smoothed out. |
Next, pink butterflies are cut out and glittered with edible glitter. |
Using a touch of water the butterflies are applied to the cake. |
More butterflies! |
Gray fondant is rolled into a thin strip. |
The fondant is curled up to resemble a horseshoe. |
The horseshoes are lustered and dragees are added for a special touch. |
Rolled gray fondant is used to create a tiara and placed on top of the cake. |
Little pink flowers are added. |
A happy birthday message is written with food coloring for Princess Aami! |
A surprise for Princess Aami :) |
